Unlike the old TVs of our youth, today's audio-visual center (wonderful term, isn't it!) is a far more complex setup. Complex does not have to mean non-understandable. The AV center of today is called upon to do far more than tune in HBO on Sunday evening!  The AV Center or Home Theater is usually called upon to present theater quality movies, TV shows that sound like you are in the studio, CD Music, record and playback movies, laser disks and DVDs.
